Wednesday 26th February saw our first auction of the year, held at our regular venue, The Delta Marriott Hotel in Milton Keynes. Despite torrential rain the auction was extremely well attended with almost every seat occupied and people standing two and three deep at the sides and rear. There was an excited and good humoured atmosphere as spirited bidding commenced at £145,000 on Lot 1 with the hammer dropping at £210,000. Other standouts were Lot 4, a derelict bungalow with subsidence in Stewartby guided at £150,000 which sold for £278,000, Lot 20, a derelict cottage in Turvey, guided at £355,000 and selling for £512,000 and lot 33, a 0.4 acre parcel of land guided at £35,000 that sold for £170,000.

There were 33 lots in the catalogue, 29 lots were offered and with some post auction sales rapidly concluded, the percentage sold by close of business the day after was a very impressive 90%, with £5,753,950 raised!
